A can bus connected rpi zero board with its own low power DC motor drivers (thanks to a RP2040).
This board was born out of a desire to play with some low power DC brushed motors, the type you typically find of cheap toys.
I'm building a L gauge garden railway and wanted to build my own locomotive with lots of random motors on it for actuating random things. Some of the features found on this board are
-Wi-Fi connectivity
-CAN bus connectivity
-4 DC motor drivers
-i2c/gpio pins for various sensors/limit switches
-Linux capable SOM (rpi zero) with enough horse power do do some machine vision
-Small formfactor so it can be mounted within a L gauge locomotive
So what i ended up building was a rpi zero base board with a rp2040 acting as a GPIO expander (as well as a PWM source) This unit can also work as a Wi-Fi base station/control node for my ever expanding array of CAN bus devices.
