This is what happens when you don't bother to write a spec or project requirements and instead build a board based on cool parts you want to try out
Originally this board was designed to be a simple 3S lithium battery pack with battery charging protection and cell balancing to be used as a portable power source for my range of 12V devices. However i quickly decided that i wanted this pack to talk over CAN bus which required a microcontroller, rather then going the minimal MCU route i instead decided to try out the ESP32P4 which i’ve had my eye on for some time. Just using the P4 for can bus is a bit of a waste so to justify it also tacked on a CSI camera connector and some low power motor drivers, which turns this board into far more then just a battery pack. This board will feature in my L gauge garden railway as the power pack for the locomotives and with all the add features i’ve put on it actually be its own completely independent locomotive controller.
